Like to write articles, essays, tutorials, or humor?
There are some sites that will pay you for your articles based on how popular they are with readers. This is a share the revenue concept for the site's advertising. The more impressions these ads receive from the readership of your articles; the more money you make. While not exactly the quick path to riches, there is no cost associated (no need to set up your own website) and you can use the articles to build your credibility (or lack thereof) in your chosen field.
Sitting at your computer in your pjamas with your faithful pooch at your feet, you can write brief articles on a variety of topics to bring some cash (not necessarily a substantial amount) into your account. Some of these sites include:
- eHow.com
This site is exactly what it sounds like. eHow is a site for sharing how-to advice on everything including managing your finances, changing your oil, asking someone on a date, and behaving appropriately at your office Christmas party.
- Associated Content
Associated Content is a platform that enables everyone to publish their content in any format (text, video, audio, images) on any topic and then distributes that content through its website and content partners. Pays based on page views.
- Helium
Like Associated Content, Helium.com pays according to the number of page views your articles receive. So the key is to create multiple articles on items that are topical and not overdone.
- Triond
Triond takes your articles (or other content) and publishes it all over the web. As with the others mentioned above, you get a portion of the revenue generated by your articles.
- TrendHunter
TrendHunter offers an interesting twist on the revenue sharing. First, the content you provide varies from some of the other sites. You basically report on trends or microtrends. The site is very interesting, highly visual and highly visible.
- Constant Content
Constant Content works differently. Writers post their articles and buyers can come and buy rights to the articles. The author sets article price and licenses. Constant Contact gets a percentage of the sale price.
This is just a sampling of these article / content serving sites. While submitting articles to these communities will probably not generate a six-figure income, the published articles can build your portfolio and your credibility and bring in a little money on the side. |
